The symposium is to be opened by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader is to present economic policy for the next year, organisers from the Croatian Society of Economists announced on Tuesday.
National Bank Governor Zeljko Rohatinski will speak of monetary policy, while Finance Minister Ivan Suker will present fiscal policy for the next term.
The meeting is expected to be attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, who is to talk about possibilities of economic cooperation between Serbia and Croatia.
This year the traditional meeting of economists will focus on current economic issues such as Croatia's efforts to join the European Union, tax reform, economic policy in the context of excessive indebtedness, competitiveness, challenges of monetary policy, and development of capital markets.
