MOSTAR, Nov 9 (Hina) - Representatives of the Bosnian parliament, who are on a visit to the Netherlands, on Tuesday held talks with the president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Theodor Meron, a vice-president of the Bosnian Parliament's House of Representatives, Martin Raguz, told Radio Herceg Bosna over the phone.

According to Raguz, who is a member of the Bosnian delegation, the talks with Meron focused on the parliamentary procedure necessary for the referral of some ICTY cases to Bosnia's judiciary. Raguz said that by the end of November the Bosnian parliament would adopt a law which would enable the referral of the said cases.

According to an official statement released earlier, a special war crimes department of the Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina should start functioning in January 2005. According to official sources, the department should take over all war crimes cases apart from those involving high-ranking indictees.

The judicial authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina recently announced that some 10,000 people from both entities were suspected of war crimes.
