"Bralo is not a Croatian citizen. Croatia, as a third country, is doing everything to find him, but clearly he is not on Croatia's territory," Muljacic said commenting on Carla del Ponte's request that Croatia arrests Bralo.
The indictment has recently been unsealed, but the warrant for his arrest was forwarded to the Croatian judiciary, namely the police, a long time ago, Muljacic said.
The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Carla del Ponte, requested the Croatian government on Wednesday before the the NATO Permanent Council to arrest two fugitives -- Ante Gotovina and Miroslav Bralo.
Muljacic said the competent bodies were doing all they could to locate Gotovina who has been at large since the indictment against him was issued in June 2001.
The indictment against Bralo (aged 37), former member of a special unit of the Croatian Defence Council, was unsealed on 12 October 2004 and confirmed back in November 1995. He is charged on 21 counts with violations of the laws and customs of war, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions, and the persecution of Bosniaks from the Lasva River Valley in 1993.
