The Interior Ministry has actively cooperated and will continue cooperating with all Hague tribunal bodies in the search for General Ante Gotovina and in verifying information that might help in discovering his whereabouts, it said in a statement on Saturday.
The statement said that a series of steps had been taken, including personnel changes, in order to ensure effective completion of all tasks arising from the Constitutional Law on Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. "The Ministry of the Interior considers all other interpretations malicious and tendentious."
In a telephone statement to Hina, Interior Ministry spokesman Zlatko Mehun did not specify the articles that "insinuated" the lack of cooperation on the Ministry's part, but said that they had recently appeared in some weeklies and dailies.
