ZAGREB/TIRANA, Oct 25 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic met his Albanian counterpart Pandeli Majko in Tirana on Monday for talks on bilateral defence cooperation, cooperation within the US-Adriatic Charter and the security situation in the region, the Defence Ministry said in a press release.

The two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the cooperation plan for 2004, and said that the 2005 plan was realistic and could be expanded if necessary.

Roncevic and Majko exchanged views on the security situation and agreed that the cooperation within the US-Adriatic Charter contributed to further stabilisation of the situation in Southeast Europe.

Both sides reaffirmed their desire to send a joint Croatian-Albanian-Macedonian medical team to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

Albania showed a particular interest in cooperation relating to military industry and training.

Roncevic informed his host of the progress in the process of reform and reorganisation of the Croatian armed forces, underlining the importance of a strategic defence review in the context of Croatia's efforts to join NATO.

The Croatian Defence Ministry delegation headed by Roncevic was also received by Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano.

The delegation is scheduled to meet Albanian President Alfred Moisiu on Tuesday.
