The explosion of a hand grenade outside the HSP offices in the Vukovar district of Borovo Naselje on Wednesday evening, when two party members were slightly injured, shows that there are "double standards" for the Croats and the Serbs in Croatia, Djapic said at a press conference in Vukovar on Friday.
"The OSCE as the guardian of democracy and protector of the Serb minority in Croatia did not find it necessary to declare its opinion, and if by any chance a hand grenade had been thrown at the offices of the Independent Democratic Serb Party, we know how they would have responded," Djapic said, adding that attempts were being made "to downplay and cover up the whole affair".
The HSP leader said that the Serbs in the Croatian Danube region behaved "as if they had won rather than lost the war in Croatia". He accused the government of "tolerating systematic outrages committed by the Serb political elite in order to ensure Croatia's admission to the European Union through the policies of (Serb leader Milorad) Pupovac."
Djapic praised the HSP members in Vukovar for preserving their cool, the local government for their appropriate response, and the local police for their professionalism and for promptly arresting the suspects.
