Lovrin said she had been prompted to this decision by what she called constant attempts to make Zadar "a problem city".
The Zadar City Council will discuss the proposal to rename the street at its next session and the Committee on Street Names will decide on the new name, Lovrin said.
At a session on Wednesday, the City Council rejected by majority vote a proposal by Social Democrat deputies to put on the agenda the question of renaming Mile Budak Street Vlado Gotovac Street, explaining that it was not necessary to include the item into the agenda under urgent procedure, but that it should rather be submitted for discussion under regular procedure.
SDP councillor Omerka Saric proposed that the renaming of the street be included into the agenda and that the city organise a special ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory of anti-Fascism and liberation of Zadar.
