ZAGREB, Oct 20 (Hina) - The Croatian government will pay special attention to the adjustment of the state administration to European standards, and one of its goals is the development of a system in which the state administration will be the generator of economic development rather than an instrument of authority.

This was stated by a state secretary at the Central Office for Administration, Antun Palaric, who opened the third international conference on business processes in Zagreb on Wednesday.

"Business Process Conference 2004" was organised by the InfoDom company in cooperation with the Zagreb Faculty of Economy and the Varazdin-based Faculty of Organisation and Information Science.

Palaric recalled the government's recent decision to launch the One Stop Shop project at the Financial Agency to help entrepreneurs starting new businesses obtain all necessary documents at one place.

The first day of the conference will focus on the management of business processes in the economy, modernisation and business processes in the state administration, methods of measuring the success of business processes, and on linking in electronic businesses.

On Thursday the participants will attend a number of workshops on trends in business processes.
