ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The leadership of "Matica hrvatska", the maincultural and publishing society in Croatia, on Tuesday supported thedecision of its secretary-general to discontinue the distribution ofthe last issue of the
students' paper "Mat" because of inappropriatestatements about World War II.
ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The leadership of "Matica hrvatska", the main
cultural and publishing society in Croatia, on Tuesday supported the decision
of its secretary-general to discontinue the distribution of the last issue of
the students' paper "Mat" because of inappropriate statements about World War
II.Zorislav Lukic, the secretary-general of the society, which publishes
the weekly, said the fate of the last issue would be discussed more. The
society today did not make any radical decisions such as the withdrawal of the
issue or banning the paper, he said.
He reiterated that the distribution ban would remain in force
indefinitely.
The decision to ban the distribution of "Mat", the paper of Matica
hrvatska's students' association, was made on October 15.
