Speaking about the course of the search for the fugitive general, Bukvic said the police arrested four persons in Zagreb and Zadar.
"We will inform the State Prosecutor's Office about the case in the course of the day, after which we will decide on pressing charges," Bukvic said.
The four arrested are suspected of aiding and abetting a felon, which carries a fine or a prison sentence of up to three years.
Bukvic said that the operation launched yesterday was part of normal police procedure started after sufficient operative data was collected and was not the result of any outside pressure.
Bukvic would not say whether the police had discovered any new facts regarding Gotovina's escape or whereabouts. He only said that some of the collected information had been known to the police earlier. Gotovina has been on the run since 2001.
The police yesterday brought in for questioning Zeljko Matozan, Zeljko Dilber, Ante Zoni Maksan and Zdenko Rincic. Their houses were searched and Dilber and Maksan were found to illegally possess firearms.
