The commission expects from the Office of the President, the Government and the Parliament the names of between 200 and 300 civil servants who are not on the list, but who are subject to the Law on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest.
Kapraljevic said that among them were mainly those appointed by the Office of the President, the Government and the Parliament, such as directors of security services, the chief foreign currency inspector, members of the Telecommunications Council, the Agency for the Protection of Securities and others.
The August 20 deadline for the submission of declarations of assets was observed by nearly all officials from the Office of the President, the Parliament and the Government. They did not have to submit new declarations because they had already done so under the previous law.
Kapraljevic said that heads of municipalities were the slowest in handing in their declarations, adding that only a third of about 400 of them had submitted their declarations. Among those who disregarded this duty were also nearly half of the mayors and several county prefects and their deputies.
Kapraljevic appealed to the officials who have not yet handed in their declarations to do so within 15 days of the day they were warned by the commission over the phone, otherwise they will not receive their September salary.
He said that there is also a problem with university presidents and vice-presidents, who claim that they do not belong to this category of officials.
