ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - The State Secretary of the Croatian ForeignMinistry, Gordan Bakota, met his Slovak counterpart Ivan Korcok inBratislava on Friday for talks on the process of Croatia's accessionto the European Union and NATO,
and structural changes of stateadministration that need to be carried out before the country'sadmission to the bloc.
ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - The State Secretary of the Croatian Foreign
Ministry, Gordan Bakota, met his Slovak counterpart Ivan Korcok in Bratislava
on Friday for talks on the process of Croatia's accession to the European Union
and NATO, and structural changes of state administration that need to be
carried out before the country's admission to the bloc.According to a Croatian Foreign Ministry statement, Korcok relayed his
experience in organisational matters, saying that he considered the Slovak law
on civil servants the most important legal basis for the organisation of
government bodies.
Slovakia offered its experience to Croatia, particularly in organising
negotiations with the European Union, and proposed close cooperation between
the two ministries.
The Slovak official stressed the importance of the Croatian Foreign
Ministry adjusting to EU standards and rules.
Slovakia is a member of the EU and NATO.
