ZAGREB, Sept 2 (Hina) - The Croatian government decided on Thursday toincrease the awards for Olympic medal winners by 30 percent and makethem tax free.
ZAGREB, Sept 2 (Hina) - The Croatian government decided on Thursday to increase the awards for Olympic medal winners by 30 percent and make them tax free.

Under the decision the winners of the gold medal at the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens -- 15 handball players, their selector Lino Cervar and coach Irfan Smailagic -- will be awarded with 169,000 kuna each. swimmer Duje Draganja, who won the silver medal in the men's 50-metre freestyle, and brothers Sinisa and Niksa Skelin, who won the silver medal in the men's coxless pair, will receive 130,000 kuna each, while weight lifting bronze medal winner Nikolai Pashalov and tennis players Mario Ancic and Ivan Ljubicic will receive 91,000 kuna each.
