Macedonia's top literary award conferred on Croatian ambassador

ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Croatia's Ambassador to Skopje, Zlatko Kramaric, has received the honorary Racin award, which is the highest Macedonian award in literature, the Croatian foreign ministry reported on Tuesday.

Kosta Apostolov Solev, also known as Kosta Racin (1908 - 1943), was a Macedonian revolutionary and poet who is considered the founder of modern Macedonian literature.

The Croatian ambassador was honoured with the award for promoting Macedonia's culture and literature.

The award-giving ceremony will be held during a literary festival which is held in Racin's honor in his home town of Veles every year. This year, the festival will be held on 9-10 June.
