Project coordinator Alida Bremer said at a press conference that 12 foreign writers would visit Istria before the end of the year and write travelogues that will be compiled in a book. The project will be funded by the County Tourist Board.
Three German writers -- Norbert Wehr, Ulrike Janssen and Moroccan-born Abdellatif Belfellah -- are already in Istria for this purpose.
"We came up with this idea aware that there are no printed materials about Istria other than tourist guides," Istrian Book Fair director Magdalena Vodopija said.
Vodopija added that the book of travelogues would first be published by a German publisher and that it was expected to be presented at the Leipzig Book Fair.
The Istrian Book Fair will take place in Pula from December 2 to 11.
