Radoslav Brdjanin (aged 56) is indicted on 12 counts for genocide, abetting in genocide, crimes against humanity, violations of the laws and customs of war and harsh violations of the Geneva Conventions.
Brdjanin, who was arrested by the NATO-led Stabilisation Force in Bosnia in 1999, was a representative of Bosnian Serbs in the then parliament.
He was indicted together with the commander of the Bosnian Serb Army Main Staff, general Miomir Talic, who was arrested by the Austrian police at the Vienna airport after a secret warrant was issued. Talic was released in September 2002 due to health reasons and he died nine months later in Belgrade.
The trial in the case of Brsjanin and Talic started on 23 January 2002 and after Talic's death the process against Brdjanin was continued.
