BELGRADE, Aug 19 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for theformer Yugoslavia (ICTY) is no longer interested in police generalGoran Radosavljevic Gurija, who has recently been replaced from thepost of the commander of the
Serbian Interior Ministry gendarmerie,Belgade-based Blic daily reported on Thursday.
BELGRADE, Aug 19 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia (ICTY) is no longer interested in police general Goran
Radosavljevic Gurija, who has recently been replaced from the post of the
commander of the Serbian Interior Ministry gendarmerie, Belgade-based Blic
daily reported on Thursday.Citing anonymous sources close to the the Serbia-Montenegro government,
the daily said that the war crimes tribunal had conducted an investigation into
Radosavljevic who has been relieved of his duty two days without any
explanation.
According to some information, the ICTY could indict Radosavljevic for
crimes committed in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999.
The same source told Blic that the authorities in Belgrade had received
guarantees from The Hague that there were no more investigations inot any
active Serbia-Montenegro police or army officers.
