"I think we had substantial talks that will be of great use to both countries," Grabar-Kitarovic told Hina in a telephone interview.
On Wednesday, the Croatian minister met Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Hari Kostov, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European integration Radmila Secerinska and Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Croatian delegation travelled to Ohrid for regular consultations with officials from the Macedonian government's Department for European Integration, which ended on Thursday morning.
During the talks in Ohrid, the Croatian officials acquainted the Macedonian government representatives with details of the process of responding to the European Commission questionnaire. Macedonia expects the questionnaire in mid-September and wanted to know how Croatia completed that very complex task.
Responses to the questionnaire are some of the key elements on the basis of which the European Commission assesses a country's application for membership of the European Union.
Grabar-Kitarovic said that she had also discussed a number of other issues relating to European integration, particularly enhancing the absorption capacity for EU aid.
The two sides agreed to continue the intense exchange of experience in European integration processes, particularly at the technical level.
