Gold was won by Australians Drew Ginn and James Tomkins who were faster by one second and 88/100 of a second than brothers Niksa and Sinisa Skelin.
The third were the Donovan Cech and Ramon Di Clemente (South Africa).
The brothers have also a bronze medal from the last Olympic Games in Sydney when they were members of the crew of Croatia's eight-oared boat which was the third ranked in the finals.
So far at the Athens Games, Croatia has won four medals: Nikolaj Pasalov's bronze in weight lifting on Wednesday, Duje Draganja's silver in in the men's 50 metre freestyle on Friday, the tennis pair Ivan Ljubicic-Mario Ancic's bronze in the men's doubles, and the Skelins' silver in the men's coxless in rowing.
