Croatia's Interpol office today received an Interpol report from Wiesbaden, Germany, confirming that the person suspected of making false tip-offs about bombs planted on Croatia Airlines planes was traced, the press release said.
The German Interpol report stated the anonymous tip-offs were made by 35-year-old K.S., a Turkish citizen residing in Frankfurt. German police temporarily placed him under arrest and started an investigation.
According to information German police have collected to date, there is no political motivation behind the threats nor are the anonymous tip-offs in this case linked to terror threats recently made in some European countries.
Over the last two days a Croatia Airlines airbus flying from Zagreb to Frankfurt received two threats about a bomb planted on the plane, but a checkup established the threats were hoaxes. The first was made on Sunday evening and the second on Monday morning.
