The chief prosecutor of the Hague tribunal, Carla del Ponte, recently sent a note to the Bosnian authorities requesting documents on the activities of the HDZ BiH, the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and the so-called Croatian Republic of Herceg Bosna in the period between 1 April 1992 and 31 December 1993.
Del Ponte said that a number of Bosnian Croat state officials could be dismissed if the documents were not submitted by 30 September.
Colak reiterated in an interview with Radio Herceg Bosna today that a large part of the documents had been taken out of the country, destroyed in the war or was in some other way unavailable to the Bosnian authorities. According to local media, the documents are in Zagreb, as was the case with documents regarding the case of Tihomir Blaskic.
