ZAGREB, March 30
(Hina) - The Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office has
asked the County Court to launch an investigation against two former
chief executive officers of the HEP national power supplier -- Ivo
Covic and Ivan Mravak - and another six executives over suspicions
that they defrauded that public company of HRK 8.5 million through the
sale of HEP-owned flats at preferred prices from 2000 to 2007.
The request for the investigation was sent to the County Court on Wednesday. There was no request for the detention of the suspects, which means that a possible investigation can be greenlighted in one month's time.
The eight suspects are believed to have sold HEP flats at prices with discounts of 20 to 40 percent, although there was a company decision to sell them at the market price.
