BOSNIAN DAILY COMMENTS ON SERBIA-MONTENEGRO FOREIGN MINISTER'S CLAIMS ABOUT WAR

ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - The case of Serbia-Montenegro Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic's planned visit to Zagreb has pointed to the inept preparation of such visits as well as to the fact that war wounds take effort and time to heal, the Sarajevo-based Oslobodjenje daily said on Thursday.
ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - The case of Serbia-Montenegro Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic's planned visit to Zagreb has pointed to the inept preparation of such visits as well as to the fact that war wounds take effort and time to heal, the Sarajevo-based Oslobodjenje daily said on Thursday.#L# According to this newspaper, an interview Draskovic granted the Zagreb-based weekly Globus anticipated the possibility of a scandal given Draskovic's claim that a civil war had been fought in the former Yugoslavia, including in Croatia, in the 1990s. According to Oslobodjenje, this undiplomatic statement foiled Draskovic's planned diplomatic mission in Croatia. The newspaper also carries Croatian President Stjepan Mesic's recent reply to a reporter's question if Draskovic was welcome in Croatia, when Mesic briefly said that Serbia-Montenegro President Svetozar Marovic was welcome, and the reaction from Belgrade -- that Draskovic would not accompany Marovic on the visit to Zagreb later this month. Osolbodjenje says the whole case points to the lack of coordination of services preparing such visits, as well as to the fact that war wounds take effort and time to heal, a process which Oslobodjenje says is only hindered by statements such as those made by Draskovic.
