products and how much of them it should produce.

Apart from this, it is necessary to elaborate strategies for the
development of other economic branches as a surplus workforce from the
farm sector, that will certainly appear after the adjustment of
Croatia's agriculture to European standards, should find jobs in other
fields, Mesic said after he toured the Vitrex company in the city of
Virovitica (100 kilometres east of Zagreb), the only plant in Croatia
that produces milking pails.
Earlier in the morning Mesic held a session with representatives of
county and town authorities behind the closed doors.
"The county is orientated towards export but it still does not receive
enough stimulative measures, which should be regulated by new laws
that would encourage production rather than import which now prevails
in the national economy," Mesic said.
