ZAGREB, April 29 (Hina) - The leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ivica Racan, on Thursday condemned a conflict which occurred between SDP leaders and Zagreb city officials Vlasta Pavic and Milan Bandic, describing it "as an inappropriate form of public communication, regardless of who of them is right".
ZAGREB, April 29 (Hina) - The leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ivica Racan, on Thursday condemned a conflict which occurred between SDP leaders and Zagreb city officials Vlasta Pavic and Milan Bandic, describing it "as an inappropriate form of public communication, regardless of who of them is right".#L# After meeting the two officials, Racan said that he heard different versions of the conflict. He said it was obvious that there were problems in relations in the party branch in Zagreb, especially in communication between top officials, and urged the branch to again discuss the incident after May 1. During a Zagreb City Assembly session on Tuesday, deputy mayor Milan Bandic levelled an insult at mayor Vlasta Bandic because he was dissatisfied with her answer to a question about a scandal involving the premises of the "Zagrepcanka" company which the City of Zagreb bought during Bandic's term of office as mayor at a price of 15 million euros. The City has been unable to register itself as the owner of the land. The B.a.B.e. association for women's rights condemned Bandic's conduct, congratulating Pavic on her decision to go public with the incident. Pavic said in a statement that her deputy and party colleague Milan Bandic "levelled vulgar and primitive insults" at her, concluding that "nobody, regardless of their function, shall mention her mother in any vulgar context".
