ZAGREB, April 16 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader has said he is very satisfied with the successful completion of negotiations between Croatia and the European Commission on Protocol VII which regulates the technical adjustment in trade with agricultural products.#L# "Croatia's delegation has, first of all, taken into account interests of the Croatian economy, placing the equal importance on all three main sectors which were the topics of the negotiations: primary agricultural products, food products and fish and fish products," Sanader told a news conference in Zagreb on Friday. The PM said that at the start of the negotiations Croatia set as its objective that import quotas for 15 EU members and new members with which Croatia had bilateral free trade agreements should not exceed the sum of the then valid quotas. Croatia has accomplished this objective, and for no product the import quota will be higher than previous ones, Sanader said adding that quotas were considerably reduced for a number of food item, including milk, cheese, apples or mineral water. In addition, quotas for Croatian exports in 25 members of the EU zone will be increased, including for sensitive issues such as the export of wine and fish. Thus, the export of young beef remains at the same level, Sanader said. Ten countries which will enter the Union on 1 May, have together a market of 80 million inhabitants. (Hina) ms
