ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - A document entitled "Sunday for Man's Sake",
calling on all members of society to promote respect for laws and the
culture of Sunday as a day of rest, was presented in Zagreb on
Friday.#L#
The document, drafted at the initiative of the Croatian Bishops'
Conference's Permanent Council, calls on the faithful to protect the
freedom and holiness of Sunday for the benefit of all citizens.
It also calls for the promotion of a business ethic and
entrepreneurial mentality rather than consumerism.
The document was drafted by the charity organisation Caritas, the
Centre for the Promotion of the Church's Social Teaching, and the
Franciscan Institute for the Culture of Peace.
The document draws attention, among other things, to the violation of
workers' rights and problems with their protection.
