The police said the children damaged 82 wood crosses and 10 concrete
vases while playing. According to unofficial reports, the children
were practising karate.
The incident was initially seen as another in a series directed
against local Croats, but according to police findings there was
neither national nor religious motivation behind it.
The children responsible for the vandalism come from Croat and
Hungarian families, it was reported unofficially.
A similar incident took place on the same cemetery two months ago, but
the police believe the perpetrators were not children.
