ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - The government's position on a request to review its work, submitted by the Peasant Party (HSS) in connection with Protocol VII and supported by other opposition parties, will be included on the parliament's agenda on Friday, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said on Thursday.
ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - The government's position on a request to review its work, submitted by the Peasant Party (HSS) in connection with Protocol VII and supported by other opposition parties, will be included on the parliament's agenda on Friday, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said on Thursday.#L# "I asked party leaders and heads of clubs of deputies yesterday to include that topic on tomorrow's agenda, but it will not be discussed before the next sitting of parliament," Sanader said at a government session. Before the third round of negotiations with the European Commission, which are scheduled for next week, the government would make efforts to avoid an increase in import quotas (to follow after the admission of ten new EU members), decrease the existing unused quotas, and see that after EU enlargement Croatia be allowed to keep the possibility of unlimited export to the EU market, the PM said. If we accomplish that, we can be very satisfied, he added. He dismissed claims that Croatian negotiators should have obtained the parliament's consent for their negotiating platform. European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic said that the text of the protocol, once completed, would be sent to parliament for approval. Sanader voiced confidence that the Croatian delegation was negotiating well and would accomplish results that would be favourable to Croatia. (Hina) rml sb
