PRISTINA, April 1 (Hina) - The spokesman for the UN police in Kosovo, Neeraj Singh, told reporters on Wednesday that the police #L# had new information on the violence which erupted in the province two weeks ago, according to which the incidents claimed the lives of 19 people. Eleven Albanians and eight Serbs were killed in the incidents, and not 28 people as previously reported by the UN police, Singh said. Shortly after the incidents, the police reported that more than 900 people were wounded, including 65 members of international peace-keeping forces, and 58 members of the Kosovo police. A commission was set up to investigate what happened and it is possible that new information will be presented, Singh said. Kosovo Force (KFOR) spokesman Jim Moran said that the security situation in Kosovo was still not back to the level from before the latest incidents. KFOR and UN police are searching for extremists, he said, adding that a number of suspects were handed over to the police. (Hina) rml
