ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic will be in Portugal on April 5 and 6 on an official visit at the invitation of his Portuguese counterpart Jorge Sampaio, the Office of the President said in a statement on
Tuesday.

Portugal on April 5 and 6 on an official visit at the invitation of
his Portuguese counterpart Jorge Sampaio, the Office of the President

In addition to Sampaio, Mesic will also meet senior Portuguese
government officials for talks on further steps to be taken by Croatia
in its efforts to join the European Union and on the possibilities of
promoting bilateral relations.
On April 6 Mesic travels to Paris to meet French President Jacques
Chirac and National Assembly Speaker Jean-Louis Debre. They will
exchange views on bilateral relations between the two countries and
regional, European and global issues. A meeting with the Chairman of
the Convention on the Future of Europe, Valery Giscard d'Estaing, has
also been scheduled.
On the second day of his visit to France, Mesic will attend the
opening of the exhibition "Renaissance in Croatia" in the National
Renaissance Museum in Ecouen, north of Paris. The exhibition is
sponsored by Mesic and Chirac, the statement said.
