The statement, signed by the head of the association, Vladimir
Gredelj, warned that the national broadcasting corporation HRT had not
reported on the incident in its prime-time news programme.
Three unidentified men beat up and seriously injured Popadic in the
southern coastal city of Split on Monday. Police said they were
searching for the assailants and investigating the motives of the
attack.
Supreme Court president Ivica Crnic on Tuesday condemned the attack,
drawing attention to great risks being faced by judges in the
performance of their duties. Crnic said it was necessary to consider
ways of protecting judges from such risks.
