HSP INSISTS THAT SABOR BE GIVEN COMPLETE INFORMATION ON ICTY INDICTMENTS

ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) leader Anto Djapic said on Monday the HSP would insist that the parliament be presented with complete information on Hague tribunal indictments against generals Mladen Markac and Ivan Cermak and an amended indictment against General Ante Gotovina. Djapic also announced the establishment of a team of experts to help the government "challenge unacceptable political assessments" which he claims are contained in the indictments.

Djapic also announced the establishment of a team of experts to help the government "challenge unacceptable political assessments" which he claims are contained in the indictments.#L# Speaking at a news conference, Djapic said that Prime Minister Ivo Sanader confirmed to opposition leaders today that the government had received the indictments. "The HSP will continue to insist on complete information about the content of the indictments because at the meeting with PM Sanader it could be concluded implicitly that they challenge the very foundations of the Croatian state and accuse the entire political and military leadership from 1995," Djapic said. He said the HSP could to some extent understand the stand of opposition leaders that any political opposition to the indictments could only be detrimental to Croatia. However, there is no chance of the HSP allowing the creeping relativisation of the Homeland War or attacks on the very foundations of the state, Djapic added. (Hina) rml sb
