NO GMO ON CROATIAN MARKET BEFORE ADOPTION OF RELEVANT REGULATIONS

ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Croatian Assistant Health Minister Ivo Afric said on Thursday that food products containing more than 0.9 percent of genetically modified organisms (GMO) would not be sold on the Croatian market before regulations based on the Law on the Protection of the Nature and the Law on Food were adopted and the consent of the ministries of health and agriculture was obtained.
ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Croatian Assistant Health Minister Ivo Afric said on Thursday that food products containing more than 0.9 percent of genetically modified organisms (GMO) would not be sold on the Croatian market before regulations based on the Law on the Protection of the Nature and the Law on Food were adopted and the consent of the ministries of health and agriculture was obtained.#L# The regulations are to be adopted by August, it was said at a news conference at the Croatian Employers' Association - the Association of the Food Industry, Agriculture and Forestry. Afric said that there was no reason for panic, fear or reports that Croatian citizens were eating poisoned food.
