Yugoslavia (ICTY) was necessary because the tribunal and its decisions would write history about what had happened in this region.
DUBROVNIK, Feb 22 (Hina) - The Croatian Justice Minister and president
of the Democratic Party (DC), Vesna Skare Ozbolt said in Dubrovnik on
Sunday evening that cooperation with the International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was necessary because the
tribunal and its decisions would write history about what had happened
in this region.#L#
"This is why it's important for Croatia to cooperate with The Hague
and to send clear messages (...) because it is important to us whether
the tribunal would describe the events which took place in this region
as a conflict, civil war or aggression on Croatia," Skare Ozbolt told
an extraordinary session of the Dubrovnik branch of the Democratic
Centre.
She said the DC would advocate the implementation of the justice
reform.
