BURGENLAND, Feb 20 (Hina) - For Croatia minorities in Croatia and Austria represent a wealth, which is best seen in Burgenland, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said in Burgenland on Friday after talks with representatives of
associations of Burgenland Croats.

"This government, just as all other Croatian governments, is aware
that our national minority in neighbouring and other countries must be
in the focus of the interests of our policy, Sanader said. He stressed
that the Croatian government would always be open to all issues
regarding Burgenland Croats and help them as much as it could.
"I believe that national minorities can only represent a wealth and
certainly not a problem," Sanader said. He expressed satisfaction with
the fact that the Austrian government understood that because
Burgenland Croats had been livining on Austrian soil nearly 500 years
and managed to preserve their national identity, which he added needed
to be further supported and promoted.
