ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - At least 7,841 persons are registered as missing after Bosnia's Srebrenica fell in July 1995, when the town was occupied by the Republika Srpska Army, demographic expert Helge Brundborg said on Wednesday at the
trial of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Mislosevic held before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - At least 7,841 persons are registered as
missing after Bosnia's Srebrenica fell in July 1995, when the town was
occupied by the Republika Srpska Army, demographic expert Helge
Brundborg said on Wednesday at the trial of former Yugoslav president
Slobodan Mislosevic held before the International Criminal Tribunal
for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.#L#
He said he came up with that figure after conducting a thorough
analysis. Brundborg said his main sources were the International Red
Cross Committee and the Doctors for Human Rights association. Even
though the term used is the word "missing", evidence shows that those
people were killed, the expert said and added the majority of the
victims were Muslim men of military age.
Brundborg will continue to testify on Thursday when a former UNPROFOR
commander, retired French General Philippe Morillon, is also expected
to take the witness stand.
