ZAGREB AND LJUBLJANA MAYORS HOLD TALKS ZAGREB, Jan 30(Hina) - The Mayors of the Croatian and Slovene capitals, Vlasta Pavic and Danica Simsic, met in Zagreb on Friday for talks on bilateral cooperation in the sectors of culture,
public health, social welfare, transport and sports.

Simsic announced a meeting of mayors of EU capitals for 25-27 March in
Ljubljana, adding that the mayors of Zagreb, Sarajevo, Belgrade and
Skopje have been invited, too.
Reporters were particularly interested in Saturday's match between
Croatia and Slovenia in the semi-finals o fthe European Handball
Championships, which will take place in Ljubljana.
Mayor Simsic gave assurances that the match would be well organised
and that Croatian fans would be safe. In this context, she apologised
for some cases of misunderstanding to which Croatian spectators had
been exposed during this competition.
"Let sport be above everything," Zagreb Mayor Vlasta Pavic said. The
two mayors agreed that Croatians and Slovenes should prove that they
were cultured and sporting nations.
