Wednesday evening. The injured man is the driver of the vice president of Partizan, the Zagreb police department said in a statement on Thursday.

Cibona attacked members of Belgrade's Partizan and severely injured a
52-year-old citizen of Serbia and Montenegro outside Zagreb's Opera
hotel late Wednesday evening. The injured man is the driver of the
vice president of Partizan, the Zagreb police department said in a

An investigation showed that the injured driver arrived in Zagreb with
the players and leadership of the Belgrade team for a Cibona-Partizan
game. After the game, he headed towards the hotel with another four
members of the club.
Police said that the victims left the protected area on their own
initiative and without letting anybody know.
Members of the Belgrade club managed to run into the hotel lobby, but
the driver was left behind. The Cibona fans caught up with him and
knocked him on the ground, hitting him with their feet and boards. The
attackers then fled the scene.
The injured driver was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with
an injury on the back of his head and several fractures on both fists.
He was kept in hospital, the police said.
