ZAGREB, Jan 26(Hina) - Chilean President Ricardo Lagos is to pay an official visit to Croatia from 28 to 30 January at the invitation of his Croatian counterpart, Stjepan Mesic, the Office of the Croatian President said in a statement
on Monday.

Lagos is scheduled to meet Mesic, Parliament President Vladimir Seks
and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Thursday when he will also address
the Croatian Parliament and meet for talks with the Mayor of Zagreb,
Vlasta Pavic.
On Friday, the Chilean delegation will visit the southern Adriatic
city of Split and the island of Brac where Lagos will unveil a
memorial plaque in honour of the Croatian community in Chile.
Lagos is the first Chilean and Latin American president to officially
visit Croatia. Chile was one of the first countries outside Europe to
recognise Croatia as an independent state.
There are no outstanding issues in political relations between the two
countries, while potential for economic cooperation has not been
sufficiently realised, the statement said.
