TROGIR: EVENTS ORGANISED TO MARK RECEIPT OF "EUROPA NOSTRA" AWARD TROGIR, Jan 25(Hina) - A solemn Mass was conducted at the Cathedral of St. Lawrence and a ceremony was held at the building of the future Museum of Sacral Art in the
southern town of Trogir on Sunday to mark receipt of the "Europa Nostra" award for the successful restoration of the Chapel of St. Ivan of Trogir, a Renaissance masterpiece of Ivan Duknovic and Nicholas the Florentine dating back to the 15th century.
TROGIR, Jan 25(Hina) - A solemn Mass was conducted at the Cathedral of
St. Lawrence and a ceremony was held at the building of the future
Museum of Sacral Art in the southern town of Trogir on Sunday to mark
receipt of the "Europa Nostra" award for the successful restoration of
the Chapel of St. Ivan of Trogir, a Renaissance masterpiece of Ivan
Duknovic and Nicholas the Florentine dating back to the 15th century.#L#
Restoration works lasted almost three years. The US foundation
"Venetian Heritage Incorporated" from New York donated funds for the
project, which was conducted under the auspices of UNESCO.
"Europa Nostra" is the umbrella European institution for the
protection of cultural heritage.
