Lozano said he was pleased with Croatia-Holy See relations and
extended the Vatican's full support to Croatia's bids to enter the
European Union.
He said Croatia was a crucial factor of stability in the region, which
he added needed to be provided with concrete economic assistance.
Seks said Croatia's new government was determined to meet all
commitments required for European integration, and that it would fully
honour and implement all agreements signed with the Holy See. He added
the government intended to pass laws aimed at protecting the family as
the foundation of society.
Seks asked the apostolic nuncio to once again convey genuine gratitude
to the Holy See for what it had done so that Croatia could be
internationally recognised.
Also today, Lozano held talks with Health Minister Andrija Hebrang and
Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic, who chairs the government commission
on relations with religious communities.
