According to latest information, Jelavic is currently in the Interior
Ministry of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo,
Muselimovic said and added that it was not clear why Jelavic had been
arrested. The attorney said he spoke with Jelavic on the phone and
that he said he was feeling all right. "He asked me to take his case,"
Muselimovic said and added he would travel to Sarajevo to meet his
client as soon as possible.
Jelavic is charged with advocating the Croat self-government in Bosnia
and wrongdoings in the Croat Defence Council (HVO). His attorney,
however, said Jelavic's arrest should not be brought into connection
with that.
The Federation's Interior Ministry confirmed that an operation was
launched last night in the Mostar region and that three persons were
arrested. The Ministry said that the operation was supported by the
NATO-led Stabilisation Force.
