ZAGREB, Jan 22(Hina) - Ivica Franic is the new police chief at the Interior Ministry, while Djoko Tepsa is an assistant interior minister, the government decided at the closed-door part of Thursday's session at which it adopted
decisions on a series of appointments and dismissals.

The government relieved Ranko Ostojic of duty as police chief and
Zlatko Gareljic of duty as deputy defence minister at his request.
Djuro Brodarac was appointed chairman of the Croatian Mine Action
Centre Council.
