ZAGREB, Jan 20(Hina) - The Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) Programmes Council on Tuesday unanimously adopted the HRT Statute after debating the institution's draft basic document on three occasions.

HRT temporary director Mirko Galic said that with the adoption of the
Statute conditions had been created for a new organisation system
which should enable more efficient business activities and entering
the market where, he added, the HRT, as a public institution, was to
face a tough competition
Galic said the HRT Programmes Council and Management must achieve the
best possible cooperation in order to achieve better business results
and programmes.
According to Council chairman Zdenko Ljevak, the adoption of the
Statute created conditions for the appointment of the HRT director,
the heads of the radio, television and music divisions, the programmes
director and the news programmes editors in chief.
