ZAGREB, Jan 20(Hina) - The association of members of the anti-terrorist unit "Uzdanica 90" from Lucko and the Zagreb branch of the Croatian Association of Disabled Homeland War Veterans (HVIDRA) issued a statement on Tuesday in response to statements made by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and the head of the Alliance of Anti-Fascist Fighters of Croatia, Ivan Fumic, at an event marking the 60th anniversary of the 10th Zagreb Corps of the Army of National Liberation of Croatia, which was held in Zagreb on 17 January.

The two associations further state that it could be concluded from President Mesic's address that today's Croatia was defended during the Homeland War exclusively by the children of partisan anti-fascist forces, which they say "is the exception rather than the rule". Their criticism, they say, refers to the part of Mesic's address in which he said: "... your sons established and defended today's Croatia in the Homeland War". (Hina) rml sb
