ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Monday received the heads of parliamentary parties to discuss Croatia's drawing closer to the European Union.

received the heads of parliamentary parties to discuss Croatia's

Sanader said he would inform party leaders of the results of his
recent tour of European countries during which he held talks with most
senior officials of the EU. The talks are also expected to tackle new
steps Croatia will make so that the European Commission could pass a
positive opinion regarding Croatia's candidacy for EU membership this
spring and receive a formal status of a candidate for full membership
in June.
The meeting is being held behind closed doors. The participants are
expected to address reporters after the talks.
