Six car tyres were set on fire at Pakostane and Drage, but police swiftly removed them. Traffic was not stopped and there were no incidents.
The incidents followed last week's arrest of war crimes fugitive Ante Gotovina in Spain after more than four years on the run.
The ruling Croatian Democratic Union's Zadar County branch is firmly behind the government and its intention to help Gotovina's defence with all means, said Zeljko Loncar, the branch's vice president, adding that people taking to the streets could not help General Gotovina, who is detained by the Hague war crimes tribunal.
