"We have not yet directly contacted general Gotovina, but we have received the confirmation that he wishes to be defended by the same team of attorneys," Ivanovic told Hina. He, however, declined to reveal how did the defence team receive this information.
Ivanovic said he did not have new information from Madrid, where a local judge set detention for the Croatian general pending his extradition to the Hague.
Ivanovic said he and US attorney Luka Misetic were accredited to represent Gotovina before the ICTY, adding that if necessary, the rest of Gotovina's defence team - Marijan Pedisic, Ivo Farcic and Ante Vukorepa - wouldl also request accreditation.
Gotovina has been at large since 2001 when the ICTY indicted him from war crimes committed in the course and after the 1995 Operation Storm.
