The Croatian government recently proposed that 2006 be declared the Year of Nikola Tesla to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the brilliant inventor, scientist and electrical engineer.
The Sabor supported this proposal at today's session, with most MPs calling for increasing investments into research and science.
MPs suggested that more attention should be paid to the living standards of promising scientists and their working conditions.
Tesla died in New York in 1943.
